About the Founder.
Texas Sun Music was founded by Austin-based vocalist/pianist, Mikaela Kahn. Mikaela has been performing as a full-time musician for over 10 years and has never had or wanted another job.
With 100+ rave reviews on The Knot alone, Mikaela is honored to be a member of The Knot Hall of Fame. She was also chosen for a WeddingWire “Couple’s Choice Award” in 2021, 2022 & 2023, was named “Best of The Bash” in 2015, 2016, & 2019, was “The Bash Top Booked Member” in January 2019, and was voted runner-up for the Austin Music Award's “Best Female Vocalist” in 2017.
Mikaela absolutely loves providing the soundtrack to life’s most special moments. She has performed at literally hundreds of weddings and countless events and knows the ins and outs of event music booking and coordination. Mikaela’s mission with Texas Sun Music is to provide opportunities to the incredible Texas music community and create lifelong musical memories for every client she assists.
On her (very few) off days, you can find her drinking matcha lattes, eating breakfast tacos, and petting every dog in South Austin.
